"TOTE BAG FOR YOUR ORGANS" "The torso is like a tote bag for your organs and the pelvic floor is the bottom of the tote bag" says Leslie Howard a Yoga teacher who conducts pelvic floor workshops internationally. We all loose muscle tone as... we age and regular fitness programs don't address this area inspite of the fact that there are numerous problems related to the pelvic floor including; lumbar spinal, sacroiliac, hip or sciatic pain, leaking bladder due to stress or urge urinary incontinence, organ prolapse, menstrual and sexual dysfunction. Your pelvic floor can be either "too loose or too tight" the latter of which if often not considered. Through my pelvic floor teaching, you will learn how to strengthen , stabilize, stretch and soften the pelvic floor as well as align the spine and pelvis through correct posture. Each movement of the body is dependent not only on a strong pelvic floor, but maintaining flexibility. A healthy pelvic floor depends on much more than just doing Kegel exercises. My teaching will guide you toward serving your individual needs. No matter what your age, it is never too late to start. My program is safe both pre-natally and throughout your pregnancy, and should be restarted asap after baby's delivery. Every pelvis has it's own story, unique to you, take the time to get to know yours and begin to listen to it.
